What If We Don't Rise?

Series sermon #53: Paul returns to his discussion of the consequences of no resurrection in 15:29-34. These consequences include the removal of any incentive to endure persecution and trial. At the end of this passage, Paul implores the Corinthians to abandon their sinful practices stemming from their denial of a future, bodily resurrection. He commands them to wake up from their drunken stupor and to stop sinning. This text clearly shows how false beliefs connect to false behavior.
