Final Words

As Paul brings 1 Corinthians to a close he expresses some final imperatives, instructions, and greetings. Throughout this instruction, he reminds them of the need for love in assembly in verses 14, 22, and 24. This final emphasis on love forms a test for the Corinthian assembly as they work through all of the sinful problems and false beliefs in the assembly. Loving God and others in community is still the call for any body of believers in Jesus Christ.
