Pastor Brent joined the CBC staff in 2016 and currently serves as the Senior Pastor. He and his wife Carissa moved to Virginia Beach from Minneapolis, MN along with their five children.
Pastor Brent enjoys spending time with Carissa and their children, playing golf, and cheering for the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers. His main ministry passions include preaching and teaching the Scripture and developing future leaders of the church.
Pastor Brent's desire to serve the church and the academy led him to complete doctoral degrees in pastoral ministries (D.Min., Northland International University) and New Testament studies (Ph.D., Ridley College, Melbourne).
Amid the busyness of pastoral ministry, Brent occasionally reviews biblical resources (e.g., The Gospel Coalition, Master's Seminary Journal) and also enjoys presenting at academic, evangelical conferences (e.g., Evangelical Theological Society, Institute of Biblical Research).
