The doctrinal section runs for 3 chapters and includes contrasts between old and new priests, covenants, and sacrifices. In 7:1-19, the author compares old covenant priests to Jesus, emphasizing 3 things about the Levitical priests: 1) They couldn't finish the job, 2) They weren't always there for you, and 3) They couldn't get you to God. These imperfections will clarify and enhance the nature of our better high priest Jesus.
