The Principle of Sacrifice

Series sermon #25: In 9:1–23, Paul gives another principle that should guide us in matters of Christian liberty. In order to help the Corinthian believers know how to exercise their liberty, Paul describes how he used his apostolic rights to advance the gospel. Paul’s foundational commitment to sacrifice for the promotion of the gospel can be summarized in a four-part statement. Through Paul's teaching and example, we learn that we must be willing to disregard personal rights in order to promote the gospel.
